Rhythm Sideboard

Designed in collaboration with Jack Lines, a designer based in London. The Rhythm Sideboard features simple repetitive detail, furnishing the cabinet with rhythmic moments of light and shadow. This is most notable on the slatted back where 43 slats have been used all the way across the cabinet to form a sculptural backdrop, allowing the cabinet to be used as a space divider as well as a traditional sideboard. In order to retain the simplicity of the design hidden sliding dovetails have been used to tie the structure back into the cabinet, allowing it to move freely during seasonal change.

The cabinets sliding doors are secured using a housed dovetail joint, the front of which can move side to side across the entire width of the cabinet, giving the piece a unique sense of fun. They can also be completely removed, exposing the structural elements to the sideboards interior. Hand cut dovetail drawers with continuous grain pattern slide on traditional oak runners and feature solid beech drawer bottoms.

Made from European White Beech.
